Refund policy
Each object offered by Forme et Matière is individually selected for its material presence and integrity. Many works are vintage or one-of-a-kind and may display signs of age consistent with their history. We encourage considered and thoughtful purchasing prior to placing an order.
European Union – Right of Withdrawal
In accordance with EU consumer protection law, customers residing within the European Union have the right to withdraw from their purchase within 14 days of delivery.
Written notice of withdrawal must be submitted within this 14-day period to:
Returned items must be dispatched within 14 days of notification.
Conditions of Return (EU Orders)
Due to the fragile and often irreplaceable nature of our objects, returns are accepted only under the following conditions:
- The item must be returned in its original condition
- The item must not have been installed, altered, or used beyond reasonable inspection
- The item must be returned in its original packaging and protective materials
Returns without original packaging will not be accepted.
If a returned item shows signs of use or handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature and characteristics, Forme et Matière reserves the right to deduct an amount reflecting any diminution in value, in accordance with applicable EU law.
Return Shipping & Handling
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
Returned items must be shipped using a secure, trackable, and fully insured delivery service. Forme et Matière is not responsible for damage occurring during return transit.
Original outbound shipping costs are non-refundable.
Orders Outside the European Union
For customers located outside the European Union (including the United States), sales are considered final once dispatched, except in the case of verified damage during transit.
We do not accept discretionary returns for non-EU orders.
Damage in Transit
If an item arrives damaged, notification must be made within 48 hours of delivery, accompanied by clear photographs of:
- Exterior packaging
- Interior packaging
- The object
Claims submitted beyond this timeframe may not be eligible for review.
